When Two Sales Reports Disagree
7 October 2026Before You Build Your Next Yacht Software
8 October 2026A yacht announcement often becomes several pieces of communication: a press release, a presentation, a brochure, a website update and social posts. Each has a different audience. They still need to describe the same yacht and the same offer.
The problem usually starts with versions. The presentation contains a revised specification, the PDF uses an earlier figure and the social caption repeats a draft claim. A consistent visual identity helps readers recognise the brand, but it cannot make conflicting facts agree.
Start with an approved fact record
Prepare a short record containing the model or yacht name, approved specifications, availability wording, announcement date, contact details and the owner of each fact. Separate confirmed information from points still awaiting approval.
Record the source of product details. If a specification changes, the person updating it should know which materials depend on it. A shared folder with several files named “final” does not establish which version is authoritative.
Give each format its own job
A press release should make the announcement clear and give an editor useful facts and contact information. A presentation can explain the proposition in a sequence. A brochure can support closer inspection of features and specifications. A social post can introduce one point and lead to the current detailed page.
The wording need not be identical everywhere. The facts, naming and offer should remain consistent. Adapt the reading order and level of detail to the channel rather than copying the full press release into every format.
A review checklist the team can actually use
- Check the names. Confirm yacht, model, company and partner names against the approved record.
- Check the figures. Review units, dimensions, equipment and availability details wherever they appear.
- Check the claims. Remove unsupported superlatives and performance statements. Confirm any quoted person has approved the quotation.
- Check the route to more information. Open the listing, brochure and contact links from the final material.
- Check the versions. Identify the approved release, presentation and PDF, with a revision date and a responsible person.
- Check the handover. Make sure the sales team knows what is being announced and where the approved information lives.
Make the approval responsibilities visible
Different people may review product facts, language and visual design. Name those roles in advance. Avoid treating a design approval as confirmation that every technical specification is correct.
If material is translated, compare the facts and units as well as the tone. A translated draft can preserve an outdated detail even after the original has changed. Record which source version the translation used and review affected passages after revisions.
Keep the published materials connected
A listing change after publication may require an updated PDF or website note. Decide which materials will be maintained and which represent the announcement at a particular moment. Where documents are generated from software, define the approved source fields and the revision process.
