Who Looks After Yacht Software After Launch?
16 September 2026What Will Your Brokerage Need from Its Software Next Year?
29 September 2026The signed sale does not end every software workflow. A delivery team may need the agreed vessel details and handover record. Later, a service team may need to connect a request to that boat and customer. The records are related, while the responsibilities differ.
Our published Saxdor Turkey project describes sales coordination, delivery records and after-sales service workflows. It provides context for discussing a broader lifecycle. The design questions below are general project guidance, not a claim that every business needs the same implementation.
| Stage | Context to carry forward | Responsibility to clarify |
|---|---|---|
| Sales | The customer, yacht and agreed next milestone. | Who confirms readiness for the delivery handover? |
| Delivery | The relevant approved details and delivery record. | Who records completion and outstanding tasks? |
| Service | The vessel identity and relevant previous records. | Who owns the request and the next response? |
A handover is not an unrestricted copy
Decide what each team needs for its job. Delivery staff do not automatically need the whole negotiation history. The service view does not need to reproduce the public yacht listing unchanged. Shared identity and appropriate access let the teams work together without flattening their different roles.
Keep outstanding actions visible when responsibility changes. A record that moves from sales to delivery should not lose an unresolved, relevant task simply because the screen uses a different status label.
Test the return visit
Use an illustrative customer who contacts the business after delivery. Can staff find the right vessel and relevant history? Can they create a new service request without altering the completed sale? Can another colleague see the next action? These are useful checks of the relationships.
The scope can begin with one handover rather than a complete lifecycle platform. For custom yacht software, the business should decide which connection solves an observed problem and who will operate it afterward.
