Can Your Team Work When the Connection Drops?
10 June 2026A Viewing Request Is More Than a Calendar Entry
21 June 2026A boat show creates short conversations in a busy setting. A visitor might ask about the displayed model, another yacht in the inventory or a later viewing. Recording a name without the subject of the conversation leaves the office to reconstruct the encounter afterward.
Before the event
- Decide which team receives each kind of enquiry.
- Prepare a short form that links the visitor’s interest to a vessel or model.
- Agree on the next-action choices the team can realistically offer.
- Test the form on the actual devices and connection arrangements.
Keep the form small enough for the setting. The first conversation rarely supplies every field on a full customer record. Mark what is optional and make the relevant yacht recognisable. Decide how staff will record the contact and communication preferences supplied by the visitor.
During the conversation
Record the question and the agreed follow-up in plain terms. A visitor who asked for a cabin layout needs a different action from somebody who booked a viewing. When a broker is already handling the person, connect the new interest to that relationship rather than casually creating a second contact.
- Confirm the contact route with the visitor.
- Select the yacht or model discussed.
- Save the factual request and the agreed next step.
- Check whether the record is shared or still waiting to sync.
After the event
Review unassigned and incomplete records first. Give someone responsibility for resolving them. Then check whether promised documents and viewing arrangements have been handled. The useful measure is completion of agreed actions, not the largest possible collection of names.
A small event view can show the origin of the enquiry while the ongoing relationship remains in the main CRM. It should not become a separate database that nobody reconciles after the show.
For a brokerage CRM project, bring an event form and a few typical follow-up tasks. They reveal what the office needs to receive from a conversation that happened away from a desk.
